Keith and the team at A1 have been brilliant from start to finish! Communication has always been a real strength of both Keith and his team and I have always felt up-to-date with work progress from both Keith but also the guys working on site, all of whom have been really great.

A detailed schedule of work and costings were provided from the outset and this was for the most part kept to and if necessary, updated. Any potential changes to work schedules and costings were always well communicated to me before hand from both Abbie and Keith  and all the options were well presented so I could make informed decisions.

The quality of work I have seen from the team has been excellent and we are now living in a wonderful newly renovated cottage which maintains the charm that it has held in the past as well as being a comfortable place to live in for the future. In particular, the fixes made to the previously deteriorating cob work as well as the lime rendering finish have been carefully and painstakingly completed to an extremely high standard, and one in which we are very happy with.

This has been a complete renovation from a very dated and in some parts unstable farm cottage. Keith and his team have all worked tirelessly to help turn into our home which we now thoroughly enjoy living in. We would 100% recommend A1 Complete builders.

I will take this opportunity to say thank you to you Keith and so you Abbie and also the rest of the team. If we do this sort of thing again, which I think we will, you will be the first port of call!

A1 Complete Builders worked on my property, a 200 year-old Georgian terraced cottage, to install a shower room and build an extension for a kitchen and utility room using part of the back yard. They worked from October 2021 to March 2022 during which time it was necessary for me to vacate my home. At no time was I concerned about the safety and security of the house.

The building work was not without problems, but Keith Pascoe, the principal was determined to overcome the difficulties and together with his workmen and specialists the job was completed to my full satisfaction and delight.

All those working in my house and backyard were always polite, hardworking, considerate and respected my property. At the end of the contract my house and yard were made good, tidied and cleaned, ready for me to return to my home.

I have absolutely no hesitation is recommending A1 Complete Builders for any work, particularly on old and historic buildings.

Keith and his team have just finished a top-to-toe renovation of our old Georgian rectory in Cornwall. Re-plumbed, re-wired, all new bathrooms and kitchen, re decorated throughout, new sash windows, and extensive re-plastering were all done to the very highest standard. The project was finished on budget and to time.

The building is Grade II listed and Keith’s knowledge of traditional building techniques (and affection for period buildings) was vital. His team of specialists trades are all top quality and delightful to work with as, of course, is Keith. Keith clearly takes huge pride in his work and this is borne out in the results. Keith and A 1 are excellent, efficient, careful builders, who have converted and maintained my three apartments in St Ives. Keith takes a good approach to his work - listening to what the client wants - bringing his own expertise to the task and making the whole building/maintaining experience straightforward.

All jobs A 1 have done for me in St Ives have been completed on time and on budget and the teams have worked around bookings and tenants. I cannot recommend A 1 for both maintenance and larger one off work.

Keith and his team worked extremely hard to bring our house rebuild to a satisfactory conclusion after our original house was destroyed by fire. His tender was very competitive and his quality of work was very good. Keith was friendly, professional and kept the site in order so as not to cause any undue disturbance to our neighbours. Keith was also very good at liaising with us during the build and often offered alternative suggestions where he felt things could be improved upon.

As we lived away from the area during the rebuild he sent regular photos to keep us updated. He has been very good in the initial moving in period and any minor issues have been dealt with in a prompt manner.

A1 Builders came to work on my St Ives renovation of a four-storey house of apartments by way of a great recommendation from a friend who had raved about their high quality of work. I had previously had a very poor experience with some Devon builders and was very wary of this project.

I can only magnify everything she said about Keith Pascoe and his team.

They are clean, tidy, resourceful, communicative, punctual and unlike so many builders listen to what the client wants.

The job took the time specified, came in pretty much on budget (any rises were due to unforeseen and complexly explained circumstances). If I changed my mind on something or if something had to be approached in a different way I was informed immediately so there were no nasty surprises.

All their specialists and contractors worked to A1s high standards and this is a cohesive well run team who have worked together for some years.

Lucky is the client who gets to work with Keith, Barry and their team.

Recently (Oct.2015 to April 2016) 'A1 Builders' have been working on a site located between our property and the main road; connected by a a narrow single lane track.

From the very beginning the whole team of management and workers have been courteous, friendly and helpful at all times.

Working through a very wet winter the lane was kept immaculately clean; being swept on a daily basis when required 'A1's' standards are exemplary; from site  management (site in question very confined) through to care and consideration of neighbours and general public.

From our experience we would strongly recommend 'A1 builders' to anyone.

A1 Builders are well-named! Keith Pascoe and his team did a faultless job on the loft conversion at Captains Cottage and came in on time and on budget. Everyone who has visited has commented on the excellent workmanship, high-end finish and attention to detail.

Best of all, from my point of view across the Atlantic, was Keith’s continuous contact with me by email. Throughout the project I felt he was always a click away and quickly able to smooth the occasional bump in the progress. I commissioned A1 builders in 2O12 to add a large en-suite bedroom extension to our house, with a brief to blend the original granite barn look with the more modern look and feel of the existing barn conversion & extension. My wife and I have experience of several major property renovations as we have moved around the country with my career, prior to settling here in Cornwall.

I can honestly say that we were delighted with the quality of work and attitude of the team on site and with the diligence with which Keith checked progress and dealt with the changes and enhancements we requested as the job progressed. I have told Keith that any prospective clients are most welcome to visit our property to see the quality of the finished works and hear our comments first hand.

I am writing this testimonial on behalf of the Trustees of the above registered charity in favour of Mr Keith Pascoe and his Building Company known locally as A1 Complete Builders.

They recently were appointed to build an extension to our Animal Hospital at Treleigh, Redruth. The work was undertaken in a very caring and professional way by Keith and his team. The contract involved them in having to work, from early July through to mid October this year, whilst allowing for the day to day operation of the Hospital to continue unhindered. The staff at the Hospital spoke highly of the attitude and care shown them during the working day by A1s team of workers.

The end result was an excellent building incorporating two new operating theatres, recovery room, laboratory and Laundry area. The standard of workmanship was excellent and matched by the courtesy shown throughout the job. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this firm to anyone with the certain knowledge that they will provide an excellent service.

We are pleased to say that we have enjoyed a very favourable experience with Keith Pascoe and his team at A1 Complete Builders. We used A1 on the extensive renovation of our seventeenth century cottage in the very centre of Portloe, which is a conservation area.

Portloe is a small village, with many interested neighbours and one particularly objectionable one. We are also right beside the busy Lugger Hotel, Keith handled all people, including council inspectors professionally and diplomatically and always seemed to calm any situation rather than antagonise it.

We didn't have detailed plans or drawings to work with, and Keith was very good in discussions with ideas and suggestions, but did not impose these against our will. Any unexpected snags were quickly highlighted and solutions found. We live many miles away near Windsor, and expected to have to visit many more times, than we did during the works. Keith, or Barry from the office, kept us up to date with phone calls and emails, often sending photographs to show progress or to confirm a detail.

A1's own dedicated workforce were always polite and genuinely interested in their work. Keith has good relations with, and introduced many professional specialist tradesmen for example plumbers, electrician and a lead worker.

We were very pleased with the obvious quality of hidden construction works, and the care taken with lime pointing and rendering to stonework and other details. The final result is superb, and this is highlighted by the first class decorating and painting completed by A1.

A1 were not the cheapest or dearest quote we had. However, their sheer enthusiasm put them firmly in mind.. Of course we had alterations and extras, and these were always priced as we went. We thought A1 were very fair, and gave given good value for money. All stage accounts were simply set-out and detailed to show how the money was being spent. There were no nasty shocks when the final bill arrived, and we paid in full without second thought.

As usual, there have been a couple of snags since finishing and A1 have been quick to respond and sort things out.

We are very happy with the service received from A1, and will look to use them for any future works.

People think we are joking when we say that having an extension built on our holiday cottage was a really enjoyable experience. But it was, due to Keith - an exacting leader - and Barry and their great team of workers. We commissioned A1Builders without prior knowledge of their work and found the whole team highly skilled, friendly and thoughtful. The finished product way exceeded our expectations. We love it! They will always be our first choice if we need building work done in the future.

Following completion of the construction works at our home, I write to express my thanks for the manner in which the works were carried out. ln what was a most constricted work area, bounded by existing gardens, party walls and busy road to the beach, your firm and tradesmen on site executed the work to the highest quality with minimal disruption to ourselves, neighbours and holidaymakers. Please pass on our thanks to the tradesmen for their attention to tidiness, cleanliness and general helpfulness.

We knew that our beloved cottage needed some major work, but with a 300+ year old property we really didn't know where to start. After receiving a number of quotes we chose A1 Complete Builders because of their experience, direct approach and expertise. With a limited budget we were keen to engage a company that we could trust. We needed accurate quotes and a realistic view of what we should and shouldn't attempt to do.

A1 offered us really practical advice: they gave us honest opinions and were happy to work within our budget. In the end the job was much bigger than expected, but A1 held our hands (at times literally) throughout the process, When we discovered that the roof needed replacing, they gave us several practical options of how we could proceed, and allowed us to take our time to figure everything out. The team were a delight to work with, turning up when they said they would and were extremely responsive to feedback.

The job consisted of re-rendering the outside of the cottage and replacing the roof. We're delighted with the end results and the plasterwork and lime render is beautiful. We would always recommend Keith and his team and we're about to commission some further work. We can't recommend them highly enough.

Our 300 year old "Listed" cottage was badly flooded towards the end of 2012. The ripping out and reinstatement of the complete ground floor was undertaken  by (A1) Complete Builders.

All of their team were courteous, friendly and obliging, nothing was too much trouble. Without exception they all carried out their work tidely and professionally and to our exacting standards with Barry in the office always on hand with friendly reassurance.  The whole job completed on time as promised.

A1 carried out work both inside our property and substantial work in the garden including decking, a Cornish wall and glass fronted balcony.
